About Sheridan College

Founded in 1967, Sheridan College is one of Ontario’s leading post-secondary institutions, widely recognized as the “Harvard of Animation.” With three campuses located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)—Oakville, Brampton, and Mississauga—Sheridan is a premier destination for students seeking careers in the creative industries, business, technology, and community services. It is the first undergraduate college in Canada to receive a prestigious accreditation from the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Sheridan is distinguished by its Creative Campus philosophy, which integrates creative thinking across all disciplines. Whether a student is studying engineering or early childhood education, they are taught to be agile, inventive, and collaborative. The college is also a research powerhouse, home to centers like the Screen Industries Research and Training Centre (SIRT) at Pinewood Toronto Studios, where students work at the cutting edge of virtual reality and motion capture technology.

Why Choose Sheridan College

A Dynamic International Community Converge to Empower Your Success.

The Global Gold Standard in Animation

Furthermore, Sheridan’s Bachelor of Animation is world-famous, producing the creative talent behind major studios like Disney, Pixar, and DreamWorks. Specifically, students spend four years mastering classical and digital techniques in a studio environment. Therefore, the portfolio students build at Sheridan is considered a "golden ticket" in the global film industry.

State-of-the-Art Research Hubs

Additionally, Sheridan leads the way in applied research, particularly through the SIRT Centre and the Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Design Technologies (CAMDT). Consequently, students have the opportunity to work on industry-sponsored projects using high-end robotics and 3D printing. This exposure to industrial-scale technology ensures that graduates are highly technical and forward-thinking.

Experiential and Work-Integrated Learning

Moreover, nearly every program at Sheridan includes a work-placement component, such as co-op, internships, or field placements. Specifically, the college maintains partnerships with thousands of employers across North America. As a result, students gain professional experience and build a network before they graduate. Therefore, the transition from college to a high-paying career is exceptionally smooth.

Strategic GTA Locations

Consequently, the college’s locations in Oakville, Mississauga, and Brampton place students at the center of Canada’s largest economic corridor. Specifically, the Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga is situated in the heart of the city’s business district, offering students direct access to major corporate headquarters. Thus, the campus location acts as a bridge to the professional world.

A Leader in Performing Arts

In addition, the Sheridan Music Theatre program is the premier training ground for Canadian theater professionals. Specifically, the Canadian Music Theatre Project (CMTP) at Sheridan was the original incubator for the international hit musical Come From Away. Therefore, students are part of a creative ecosystem that produces world-class entertainment. Thus, Sheridan is a cornerstone of Canada’s cultural identity.

Commitment to Student Wellness and Diversity

Lastly, Sheridan provides an extensive support network, including specialized services for international students and Indigenous learners. Specifically, the "S-Sense" wellness program and diverse student unions foster a safe and inclusive environment for all. Consequently, students feel supported both academically and personally throughout their journey.
