Why Choose Woodstock Academy

A Dynamic International Community Converge to Empower Your Success.

University-Style Multi-Campus Experience

Furthermore, the Academy provides a transition to higher education by utilizing a multi-campus layout. Specifically, the North Campus serves as the historic academic hub, while the South Campus provides specialized residential, athletic, and artistic facilities. Therefore, students learn to navigate a collegiate atmosphere before they even graduate high school. Thus, the campus structure fosters independence and maturity.

Unrivaled Breadth of Curriculum

Additionally, with over 240 courses, the Academy offers more academic variety than many small colleges. Consequently, students can explore niche interests such as culinary arts, aerospace engineering, or world languages in depth. This expansive choice ensures that every learner finds a path that aligns with their future goals. Hence, WA graduates are exceptionally well-prepared for specific university majors.

Elite College Preparatory Support

Moreover, the Academy’s College Counseling office provides a personalized, four-year roadmap for every student. Specifically, counselors assist with standardized testing, portfolio development, and university applications for top-tier institutions worldwide. As a result, graduates are consistently accepted into Ivy League and "Public Ivy" universities. Therefore, the school acts as a powerful catalyst for academic advancement.

A Global Residential Community

Consequently, boarding students from over 20 countries bring a rich international perspective to the "Quiet Corner" of Connecticut. Specifically, domestic day students and international residents learn side-by-side, fostering cross-cultural friendships and global literacy. Thus, the Academy prepares students for life in an interconnected world. Ultimately, this diversity is a core pillar of the WA experience.

State-of-the-Art Athletic and Arts Facilities

In addition, the Academy offers professional-grade resources, including the Bentley Athletic Complex and the Loos Center for the Arts. Specifically, student-athletes compete in 50+ interscholastic teams, while artists perform in a 1,000-seat theater. Therefore, students can pursue their passions at a highly competitive level. This ensures a balanced development of both physical and creative talents.

Strong Tradition of Community Service

Lastly, the Academy instills a deep sense of civic duty through its various service-learning requirements and clubs. Specifically, students contribute thousands of volunteer hours to local and global causes each year. Consequently, they graduate not only as scholars but as empathetic leaders ready to make a positive impact. Thus, the school’s mission extends far beyond the classroom walls.
