Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS) is one of Ireland’s newest and most dynamic technological universities, established in October 2021 through the merger of Athlone Institute of Technology and Limerick Institute of Technology. With campuses in Athlone, Limerick, Thurles, Clonmel, and Ennis, TUS offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes. These services also help with work placements during study and provide one‑to‑one career consultations to enhance graduate employability. TUS has strong links with industry partners and facilitates work placements and graduate opportunities, helping many students transition into full‑time roles after graduation.
TUS provides a range of scholarships and financial support for students based on academic merit, family connections, and specific programmes. These include merit‑based undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships (up to approximately €3,000‑€4,000), alumni and sibling/family scholarships, nursing scholarships (€6,000), and other awards such as partnership and homecoming scholarships. In addition, TUS students can access external and national scholarship opportunities, including Government of Ireland postgraduate scholarships that may include stipends and fee support.
